All You Can Eat London is an actual printed ‘zine (kids used to make these at great personal cost before we had the internet in all its free-ness). It was my first foray into food writing along with co-author and writing partner Fred Chao.
While living in London a few years back, Fred and I found ourselves eating at many of the buffet restaurants that crowded the city. Then we found ourselves writing about them and what it was like for us to live there at the time. Unlike almost everything else I wrote back then, I’m not too ashamed to keep throwing it around despite its often inept attempt at whatever it was attempting. That might be because people keep buying it, but it’s probably more because we made the damned thing ourselves.
Anyway, please accept my apologies for the gross apologizing above, and have fun reading the following few selections from the first edition.

But Wait There’s More! (Maybe)
You may be interested to know that I’m working on a slightly revised, completely redesigned edition of All You Can Eat London. It will be more readable, more durable, and more fun. Any donations received here will be used solely for the redesign publishing project. You have my word that it won’t go towards any filet mignon.
- $10 and above will get you a copy of the first edition, signed by us and hand delivered by someone else.
- $50 and above will also get you a mention in the second edition as a “Friend of the Buffet.” You can also earn this title by doing other non-monetary good deeds like displaying the book in your cubicle at work.
